FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is included with my ticket price?
Listed prices per guest include cruise, meal, dessert, and sales tax. Beverages are additional and may be pre-purchased at a discounted rate or at regular purchase price during your cruise. Gratuity for onboard staff is not included; please tip your service crew.
Are my purchased public cruise tickets refundable?
In order to reserve your place aboard a public cruise, payment is required in full prior to your cruise at the time of booking. This payment is NON-REFUNDABLE. A one-time reservation change is permitted if you make arrangements to reschedule your cruise at least 72 hours in advance of your cruise time and date and a change-order fee of $10 per ticket reservation will apply. Boats depart promptly at the scheduled departure time. If you miss the cruise for any reason, we will consider you a no-show and your tickets will be forfeited by our ticketing system; no refunds will be given and reservations may not be rescheduled for no-show reservations.
If my party is not able to make the departure time or we miss our public cruise time, can I receive a refund?
In order to honor all guests, boats leave the dock as scheduled. Please allow plenty of time for parking and plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your cruise departure time to ensure you make it to the boat. Sorry, all unused tickets are non-refundable.
Will my cruise reservation be cancelled?
RARELY! We cruise rain or shine, but we do require 20 adult reservations for departure. It is very rare that we cancel due to lack of participation but in such event, we will provide you with 24 hour notice, and offer you a refund or opportunity to reschedule.
What happens during rain or storms?
Al and Alma’s Fleet cruises rain or shine. In the case of severe weather conditions, the yachts may be held dockside for portions of the event. Also, please keep in mind that our yachts are equipped with full upper deck enclosures to protect you from the weather. No refunds will be issued as a result of weather.
Is smoking permitted?
No. Smoking of any kind is NOT permitted anywhere on Al & Alma’s yachts – this includes both indoor areas and outside decks.
What payment options do I have?
Payments can be made by credit card or Al and Alma’s gift card. One gift card may be redeemed per transaction. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Public cruise tickets can only be purchased online via our website.
Are your yachts Handicap Accessible?
Regrettably, none of the yachts in Al and Alma’s fleet are “Handicap Accessible” as determined by state law. The variable water levels and dual decks on each boat require all of our guests to make a few steps up and down to board the boats. Our crew is very accommodating and will work with you to provide access to our yachts. Please call us for specific details regarding accessibility questions. Please make us aware of any special mobility issues or concerns upon reservations so that our crew is prepared to serve you.
Are your buffets “all you can eat”?
No. Our food is served buffet style, but it is not “all you can eat.” Though we provide generous serving portions, because of the finality of being on the water, our buffet cruises leave the dock with specific portion servings per person. Your host or hostess will work to make sure your guests receive appropriate portion servings.
Are there vegetarian and gluten-free options available?
Absolutely. Please note your dietary request when you book your reservation online, and a special meal will be provided in exchange of the buffet option.
Are children allowed?
Of course! Adults must accompany children. Though not required, we do recommend that small children bring a comfortable life jacket to wear during the cruise. Children three and under cruise for free. Children ten and under cruise at a reduced rate for private cruises.
Are outside alcoholic beverages allowed?
No. Minnesota State Law forbids us from allowing any outside alcoholic beverages onboard Al and Alma’s fleet.
What is the dress attire?
Dress for the current weather conditions during your cruise time. As a general rule, we recommend casual dress attire, such as casual shorts or pants and golf shirts.
Is there pre-assigned seating on public cruises?
Rarely. Cruises open to the public begin boarding 15 minutes prior to departure. Seating choices are on a first come basis. During holidays and some signature events we will assign seating in our best effort to keep groups together.
